FIND YOUR WAY / Mountain biking
Compare Kathmandu Valley, Annapurna and Upper Mustang mountain biking itineraries. Plan riding days, terrain, equipment and travel around your experience.

A PLACE TO BEGIN
Riding in Nepal can mean village tracks around Kathmandu Valley or a longer journey through the mountain landscapes of Annapurna and Upper Mustang. The right itinerary depends on the terrain you enjoy and how much riding you want within the whole holiday.
Our biking collection has three distinct routes. Compare the day-by-day programme, expected riding and transfers, then tell us about your off-road experience and preferred pace so the practical details can be discussed.
The Kathmandu Valley itinerary brings together rural tracks, settlements and places of cultural interest around the valley. It is worth comparing if you want a journey that combines riding with time among villages and heritage places. Check the daily terrain rather than assuming a valley route is flat.
The Annapurna and Upper Mustang itineraries take the comparison into different mountain landscapes. Look at climbing, descents, surfaces and overnight stops, as well as the distance. A shorter riding day can still be demanding, and transfers may form part of the programme.
Ask whether you should bring a bike or discuss rental, and confirm bike fit, helmets and other equipment before agreeing to the trip. Guiding, luggage transport, mechanical support and accommodation should be explained in the written proposal. Do not assume a particular bike type or support vehicle is included.
BEFORE YOU GO
The collection is for mountain biking and includes routes with tracks and off-road terrain. Ask for the surfaces and riding requirements of the particular itinerary rather than assuming a paved road throughout.
Equipment arrangements need confirmation for your trip. Tell the team whether you intend to bring a bike or would like to discuss rental, and ask about fit, suitability and what is included in the quote.
Start with the landscapes, daily terrain and time away that appeal to you. Kathmandu Valley combines riding with settlements and cultural places, while Upper Mustang is a longer mountain itinerary. Compare the actual riding and transfer days in each proposal.
