Annapurna Base Camp in winter

Annapurna Base Camp in winter

The Annapurna Sanctuary has a different atmosphere in winter. Forested approaches lead towards an open mountain landscape, and snow can transform familiar views around base camp.

A different season on the trail

The original journey follows village paths, terraced hillsides and forest before entering higher terrain. Teahouses and village stops are part of the experience, but their availability and the conditions along the route must be checked for your dates.

Plan around conditions

Winter travel calls for a route and equipment discussion with the guiding team. Cold, snow, ice and changing weather can affect access, walking stages and whether the journey can continue. Clear views and reaching base camp cannot be promised.

Leave room to adapt

Treat the published itinerary as a starting point for a conversation. Confirm the current route, accommodation, transport and contingency arrangements before booking. A shorter route or different departure period may suit your plans better.

If a winter journey appeals to you, tell us your travel dates and previous trekking experience. We can discuss what is practical before preparing a quotation.
