Drive over the Himalayas by way of the incredible Arniko Highway that connects Kathmandu with Lhasa. Enjoy fabulous mountain scenery en route, visit mystical Buddhist monasteries of Tashilungpo at Shigatse, the Kumbum Stupa at Gyantse, and drive past the beautiful Turquoise lake. In Lhasa visit the famous Potala and Norbulinkha palaces, the great Drepung Monastery and walk through the bustling Barkor Bazaar before flying back to Kathmandu (or onward to China). A choice of hotels are available in Lhasa and best hotels in other places. An unforgettable encounter with forbidden Tibet.

DAY 01Drive Kathmandu to Kodari (6 hrs). After immigration and custom formalities drive to Zangmu. Overnight Hotel.
DAY 02On the journey
Drive to TINGRI (4342m/8 hrs) crossing two passes NYALAM (3800m) and LALUNG LA (5050m) with excellent views (weather permitting) of the lofty Himalayan peaks including Mt. Everest. Overnight Hotel. (B)
DAY 03Drive from TINGRI to XIGATSE (3900m/8 hrs) crossing two passes LHAKPA LA (5200m) and TSUO LA (4500m). Overnight Hotel. (B)
DAY 04Sightseeing tour of TASHILUNGPO MONASTERY and XIGATSE MARKET. Afternoon drive to GYANTSE (3950m/3 hrs). Sightseeing tour of

DAY 05Drive GYANTSE to LHASA (3650m/8 hours) crossing two passes KARO LA (5010m) and KAMBA LA (4794m) via YAMDROK LAKE (Turquoise Lake).Overnight hotel. (B)
DAY 06Sightseeing tour of DREPUNG and JOKHANG MONASTERIES and BARKHOR MARKET. Overnight hotel. (B)
DAY 07Sightseeing tour of POTALA and NORBULINGKA PALACES and SERA MONASTERY. Overnight at hotel. (B)
